In the first quarter of 2022, the performance of the top five carpooling and ridesharing apps on iOS in Switzerland exhibited distinctive trends in weekly downloads and active users. According to data from Sensor Tower, here’s a closer look at the performance of these leading apps.

Uber - Request a ride saw its weekly downloads start at around 5.8K in late December 2021 but experienced a dip to approximately 1.7K by mid-January. However, the app rebounded, reaching about 3.1K downloads in late February. The weekly active users showed a slight increase from 113K in early January to 129K by the end of March.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver maintained a relatively stable number of weekly downloads, fluctuating between 331 and 504 throughout the quarter. The weekly active users remained consistent, hovering around 6K.

Bolt: Request a Ride had a steady weekly download rate, starting at 692 and seeing a slight dip to 234 in mid-January, before climbing back to 432 by the end of March. The active user count started at 1.3K and stabilized around 1K by the end of the quarter.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus displayed consistent weekly downloads, beginning at 336 and ending at 277. The app’s active user base remained stable, starting at 2.7K and ending at 2.4K.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced a decline in weekly downloads from 398 in late December to 113 in early January, with numbers gradually increasing to 199 by the end of March. The app’s weekly active users saw a drop from 1.5K in late December to around 600 in mid-January, before climbing back to nearly 1K by the end of the quarter.
